Anxiety and Stress Management

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) is an evidence-based approach for managing anxiety and stress. In fact, CBT has been proven to be as effective as medication! This is often the approach I use to improve anxiety and stress management. However, if you have tried CBT and would like a different approach, I have had great success with using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS) for managing anxiety and stress.

I offer counselling for the following anxieties: 

- Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) 

- Social Anxiety 

- Performance Anxiety 

- Phobias 

- Panic Disorder

- OCD tendencies 

- Stress Management

Couples therapy

Working with couples and witnessing partners become closer and more connected is so rewarding. I am a Level One Gottman trained therapist, which provides an easy to understand and follow framework to improve your relationship and grow closer as partners. I have worked with couples to: 

- Improve communication 

- Increase intimacy and connection 

- Improve conflict resolution

- Work through major transitions (I.e. moving in together, getting married, having a baby) 

Perinatal and Postpartum Support

Transitioning to parenthood is oftentimes a challenging experience. From trouble conceiving to the physical, mental and emotional changes that accompany pregnancy and postpartum, it is natural to feel overwhelmed and disconnected from yourself and others. I take an emotion-focused approach to help you reconnect with yourself and others throughout this major transition in your life. I offer pre and postpartum counselling for: 

- Infertility 

- Prenatal anxiety and depression 

- Postpartum anxiety 

- Postpartum depression 

- Birth/ medical trauma

- Support after a miscarriage/ stillbirth 

- Stress with transition to parenthood/ new baby

I am a person-centered therapist first- this means that I truly value your feedback on what is working, and especially what is not working, in therapy so we can adjust and find strategies and tools that work for you and your unique circumstances. 

I am trained in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Cognitive Processing Therapy. I also have Level One Training in Gottman Methods Couples Therapy.
